Little Acts of Love has received a grant from the Home Depot Foundation to continue its work.
The nonprofit home repair ministry was awarded nearly $20,300 to make improvements to Liberty Square Personal Care in Womelsdorf, an assisted living community that provides a place for military veterans to call home.
Little Acts of Love Executive Director Alice Moyer said the funds will be used to replace windows throughout the facility just in time to ward off the cold weather and increase energy efficiency. There will also be improvements made to the exterior of the building and upgrades to the garden.
Moyer said the organization is partnering with the associate volunteer force from The Home Depot location in Lebanon County to complete the work.
“We are profoundly grateful for the generosity of The Home Depot Foundation and their commitment to serve our veterans,” Moyer said. “We are also thankful for the support of The Home Depot Lebanon Team Depot volunteers, who are committed to the veterans at Liberty Square.”
This is the third project serving the veterans who call Liberty Square their home.
Little Acts of Love provides home repairs to eligible elderly, low-income and disabled and veteran homeowners in Berks County. Local service groups and church mission teams provide the hands to address the needed repairs and materials are provided through grants and donations at no cost to the homeowner.
